Wider Education
Every year in December, over a period of three days, activities are arranged for Year 9 and 10 students. Year 10 students are challenged to spend time away from home, generally outside Auckland. Year 9 students are involved in day trips around Auckland.
Wider Education for Year 9 and 10 students has become a tradition at MRGS. The aim is to give your child new experiences, extending them beyond the comfort of the classroom into some action packed days that are both fun and personally challenging.
Year 10 student are invited to attend a camp/day trip as a part of Mount Roskill Grammar School’s Wider Education Programme. This programme has been developed to enable all students at Year 10 to participate in a learning experience that takes them away from their familiar home comforts.
Most camps are based outside of the Auckland area and students will be travelling to these destinations by bus or mini bus. There a couple of trips that remain in Auckland and are just throughout the day. Risk appraisal and management plans will be completed for each camp to ensure your child’s safety. This year the camps cover a wide range of activities and venues, and although there is a cost associated with each camp we have endeavoured to keep these to a minimum.
