Dressmaking (Sewing) for Beginners

Learn the essential skills for making your own clothes, including laying and cutting out a pattern, threading and using a machine, hemming, buttons and zips.  From week two, students will work on sewing their own simple garment - a pattern and material will be required for this.  Class numbers limited.

Dressmaking (Sewing) - Intermediate

  • Term 2:  starts Wednesday 15 May 2013 (FULL - enrol now for Tern 3)
  • Term 3: starts Wednesday 7 August 2013
  • Held every Wednesday for 8 weeks

For students with some basic dressmaking skills.  Work on your own garment with assistance from our highly experienced and knowledgeable tutor.  Please bring your own pattern, material, pins, thread and scissors from week 1.  Class numbers limited.

Pattern Making (Drafting) - Beginners and Advanced

  • Tutor: Sue Cox 
  • Time 7-9pm 
  • Term 1: Part A - starts Monday 11 February 2013 (7 weeks) 
  • Term 2: Part B - starts Monday 13 May 2013 (8 weeks)
  • Held every Monday for a total of 15 weeks over two terms
  • Fee: $240 for both terms

Learn how to draft patterns to make clothes that fit you perfectly. In this course, you will learn how to make simple patterns (blocks) for skirts, trousers and tops. This is a two term course, fee covers both terms.  Only 10 spaces available so book your space today!
