ESL/ESOL Classes - English Language Classes at Mt Roskill Grammar School, Auckland - see below for course details and fees

Maybe you are a new migrant to Auckland or are on a Visitor’s Visa or Work Permit and you wish to improve your English language. Then come and join us at Mt Roskill Grammar School, Frost Road, Mt Roskill. Auckland. Our  teachers are of the highest quality and our students enjoy the friendly and welcoming atmosphere at the school.  Mt Roskill Grammar School is only a 10 minute drive from Auckland City and free parking is available.

Gain confidence and new  English Language speaking skills. Extend your grammar knowledge and revise what you have already learnt through using English in common day-to-day situations. Improve your pronunciation, speaking and listening skills. Reading and writing will also be covered.

You can also  study at Mt Roskill Grammar School Community Education’s classes in English as a Second Language if you have prepaid money to the New Zealand Government prior to your immigration (English for Migrants Scheme). Mt Roskill Grammar School is an approved provider of ESL classes by the New Zealand Government. Just bring along your passport and we can arrange for your enrolment.

Our English Language (ESL/ESOL) classes are excellent value for money whilst not compromising quality of learning.

Day time classes

Students can join at any time during the term and pay a reduced fee for the number of weeks they are attending.

Withdrawals can be made from a class up to 3 days prior to the class starting.  No refunds will be given after this and no refunds will be given once a class has started.  A $15 administration fee will be charged if a students withdraws from a class.

To qualify for an attendance certificate students are required to attend 80% of the course.  This is also necessary for Mt Roskill Grammar School to receive a Government subsidy for the student.

Please: No smoking anywhere on the school grounds.

Non-residents are required to pay 30% extra

DAY-TIME CLASSES 2010

CONVERSATION ENGLISH AND GRAMMAR - includes reading, writing, speaking & pronunciation

9am - 12pm              Monday, Wednesday & Friday mornings                      

Enrol at least one week before classes start and receive a $20 discount on day-time classes (excluding  Summer School).  Bring a friend who has not attended our classes previously and you will both receive another $20 discount on day-time classes.  

A placement test will be held on the first day of class to help students to determine their level of study.

 IELTS ACADEMIC PREPARATION CLASS  9.15-11.15am  Tuesday & Thursday

starting 20 July 2010   for 10 weeks   $290

This class will help students to prepare for the IELTS Academic Exam.  It will cover the four parts of  the exam - Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening

Night time classes

All classes cover reading, writing, speaking, listening, pronunciation and grammar.  There will be a class to suit every student's needs.  Classes are of the same high quality as the day-time classes and are taught by very experienced teachers.

 

 

Beginners

A class for total beginners - learn the alphabet and basic words and sentences. Start to communicate in English.

An opportunity to improve grammar, speaking and listening skills.  Gain confidence in conversation and improve your pronunciation.

Intermediate

This class is to revise grammar already known, and to extend it. Students will improve their speaking and listening skills by paying full attention to pronunciation. Reading and writing will also be covered.

This is a new class for Term 3 for students with a high level of English who would like to improve and practice grammar so that they can speak and write English more fluently.
