On June 14th, Friday night, a group of Year 9 and Year 10 students went to Liston College to compete in the annual Japanese Trivia Quiz. Team 1 was the Year 10 team and consisted of students, Aushadhi, Saniya and Zeyad, and Team 2 was the Year 9 team, consisting of students, Racey, Charlotte and Ayla. The two teams competed against other schools of the Auckland region in various categories and aspects about Japan, whether it be daily life, geography, pop culture, food, or sports. At the end of the day, we got a modest placing, however the fun of getting dressed into Japanese style clothes, the snacks and the overall atmosphere of the schools coming together – even if it was competitive, was lively and fun. I would definitely recommend attending this event if you are a Junior student wanting to expand your Japanese knowledge and have fun with the language, culture and food!
