On 31 July 2019, the Year 10 Japanese class attempted to make Okonomiyaki. Okonomiyaki is a Japanese-style savoury pancake. We first started by washing our hands then proceeding to heat up the frying pans. There were six stations around the class and we were in groups of four. We had to oil the pans and then turn the heat down to medium. We poured the batter with cabbage, egg, flour and squid onto the frying pan until it cooked. We flipped it carefully, making sure one side was not burnt. After it was cooked, we cut it in half. We put Okonomiyaki sauce and Japanese mayonnaise. We ate it and it tastes much better with sauces on. We all enjoyed cooking Okonomiyaki.
