Hey Guys,
My name is Mackenzie Mariano but you guys know me as Kenzie! My preferred pronouns are She/Her.
I absolutely love reading or watching anything that is about true crime stories, there is just something about true crime that gets me extremely hooked. However, my main passion is genuinely just helping people feel comfortable and content with their lives and who they are as a person. This year, I was lucky enough to be trained as a PSSP member and PSSP has become one of my main passions and one of my main enjoyments. Everything that PSSP is and the entire team that I work with has helped me find a sense a belonging as a person.
My time in the Roskill community started when I was year 7. What I enjoy most about being at Roskill is the fact that the community is so diverse. I love seeing all the different cultures, religions and ethnicities interact together as a union and that is what I believe is the best thing about being part of the Roskill community.
I love how Roskill teaches us to understand and to interact with people who have different beliefs and view points which is important for me as I am wanting to pursue Law at UoA and eventually become a Criminal Barrister and practice overseas.
As we all know, Term 2 is going to be completely different compared to all of the other terms we have experienced. I want you to know that there are many people willing to help you through the lockdown period such as our counsellors and some of our student led groups are always up for a chat.
I’m always up for a good chat for pretty much anything whether it may be a good laugh or some support you may need 💜. Distance learning is definitely going to be a learning curve for all of us but all I can say is that it is important to keep an open mind and trust your teachers with the learning content but most importantly trust yourself that you can do it. You can get through this period of time. You can still get the grades you want to achieve. You can do it. 💛
