Talofa Lava Everyone!

My name is Phoenix Tupa’i Samuel. I am full Samoan and reside in Mangere Bridge. I went to Mangere Bridge Primary School and Waikowhai Intermediate before coming to Roskill and I’ve been blessed to be a part of the Roskill family for the past 5 years and have made many memorable moments that I will forever cherish !

The opportunities that have been given to me have been vast as I’ve been involved with many Pasifika lead leadership programmes, being elected Ngata House captain for 2020 and representing our school in Basketball. My hobbies also include listening and playing music, eating that good Polynesian food, playing basketball and spending time with my family and friends.

Here at Roskill, I really admire the family aspect that has been built around our school. For someone who is very family orientated, it really does feel like Roskill was made for me. The vast diversity at Roskill is something also well respected all throughout New Zealand as we are the most diverse school here in Aotearoa.

My aspirations after I leave MRGS, is to either become a police officer or study commerce at Auckland University.

With this 3 day lockdown in place, I hope that you and your families are safe and are following the rules our government has laid down for us. Please remember to keep up to date with what is happening within our country and to do what you can to keep you and those around you healthy and safe. Continue to check google classroom and your emails and contact your teachers if there are any difficulties regarding school work.

Let’s continue to strive for excellence and make 2021 one to remember ! Me and the other head prefects are always a call, email and text away.

Alofa atu and God Bless !
