Debating Octo-Finals
At the end of the preliminary rounds of the Auckland Schools Debating season MRGS has had its most successful year to date. We have broken a record five teams across three grades to the Octo-finals (final 16 teams).
In the Junior Open grade (Y9 and 10), MRGS 2- qualified 16th in Auckland with 4/5 to become the first ever Junior team from Roskill to break to the finals.
In the Senior Open grade (Y11 and Y12), MRGS 1- qualified 1st with 5/5 wins and MRGS 3- qualified 6th with 4/5 wins.
In the Advanced Open grade (Y13 and experienced Y12 debaters) MRGS 1- qualified 1st in Auckland with 5/5 wins and MRGS 2- qualified 12th with 4/5 wins.
