Whānau Connector

Mount Roskill Grammar School is a large, co-educational secondary school in Auckland. We are proud of our diversity, academic excellence and our values in action – manaakitanga, whanaungatanga and tūmanakotanga.

We are currently looking for a Whānau Connector to join our Pastoral team, focused on attendance. We require a person who enjoys working with young people and their families in relation to raising attendance, investigating truancy and improving punctuality. Your ability to connect with whānau and young people, problem solve and work to support them to increase their engagement at school will be critical to this position.

The successful applicant will be well organised and confident with a positive attitude. They will have the ability to work with a wide range of people, in a student-focused, mana enhancing manner.

You will need to have reasonable computer skills, a full driver’s licence, and a vehicle are essential prerequisites. Networking, cultural capabilities and self-motivation will be advantageous.

This position is a fixed-term position, up to 20 hours per week, during the school term. This role will commence in February 2026.

The Terms of employment are as per the Support Staff in Schools’ Collective Agreement 2022 – 2024.
