Culture

No culture can live if it attempts to be exclusive – Mahatma Gandhi

Mount Roskill Grammar School recognises and values diversity as a strength within our community. Maintaining a pride and connection to home country culture not only gives a sense of strength, purpose and identity to individuals it allows others the opportunity to develop a greater understanding and appreciation of different perspectives.

MRGS has active Kapa Haka, Samoan, Tongan, African/Ethiopian and Indian groups. In addition we celebrate, among others, Ramadhan and Eid with our Muslim community, Diwali with those who share the Hindu faith and Chinese New Year with those who hail from South East Asia.

In the globalised world of the future the knowledge, respect and understanding that comes from being part of our dynamic school is another reason why Roskill students will ‘reach the heights’.
