Education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world.
The Computing Department operates across both the MacIntosh and PC platforms. We encourage our students to experiment with ICT equipment and applications to develop a wide range of skills that will be useful in both life skills and tertiary studies.
Facilities
The Computing Department have five designated Computer rooms. We offer a range of applications to students, including the Microsoft suite, Macromedia applications such as Dreamweaver, Flash and Fireworks, Adobe Photoshop and iMovie, Garageband and iphoto. Our equipment ranges from digital cameras and videos to scanners and colour printers.
Assessment
In the senior school, we cater to a range of student abilities by offering both beginners and advanced courses. Beginners courses are mostly assessed using Unit Standards and advanced courses are assessed using Achievement Standards, including Scholarship. More able students can work above their year level, if they show potential. ICT (Technology) is an approved subject for University entry.
