Out-of-Zone Enrolments – Procedures, Dates and Deadlines

Thank you for your interest in enrolling your child at Mt Roskill Grammar School.

The school will receive out-of-zone applications for 2024 for all year levels. Applications close at 4pm on Wednesday 30th August, 2023. The Board of Trustees will then determine the number of out-of-zone applicants it will accept at each level and, if necessary, hold a ballot on Wednesday 6th September, 2023. All applicants will then be informed of the outcome of the ballot.

Out-of-zone application forms are available from this link here or available from the school office.  Out-of-zone applications made after the closing date will not be eligible for the ballot.

Applications close: Wednesday 30th August 2023 at 4pm. Ballot day is Wednesday 6th September 2023. Results of the ballot will be emailed by Friday 8th September.

Documents Required for Enrolment:


All applicants must provide the following:

  • NZ Citizens: An original or certified copy of the student’s Birth Certificate
  • Other Citizens: The student’s Birth Certificate and the current visa
  • Copy of the latest school report
  • Student Health Record (Download then complete)

Enrolment Interviews

Successful applicants and their families will be invited to attend an interview with a senior staff member. Interview bookings will be made online.

Interviews are 15 minutes in duration and will be held in the Administration Building from 4.00 – 7.00pm on:

  • Wednesday 11th October
  • Tuesday 17th October
  • Wednesday 18th October
  • Wednesday 25th October
  • Tuesday 31st October
  • Wednesday 8th November
  • Thursday 9th November
