Football

Mount Roskill Grammar School offers Football to both boys and girls across all levels. We currently have eight Football teams comprising of Y9, Y10 Boys Junior teams, two senior Girls teams including a 1st and 2nd XI and four senior boys teams.

When is Football played?

Football takes place in the Winter Terms being Term Two and Three.

Friendly fixtures can begin in Term One as part of the teams pre-season.

What are the training commitments?

Both Senior and junior teams train twice a week, with the 1st XI teams can sometimes train three times.

Trainings are 60 – 90 minutes long.

What days are the games played?

Boys play on Saturday; Juniors’ in the mornings and Seniors in the afternoon

Girl’s games are on Wednesday after school.

Is there a cost associated with Football?

Yes, the football fees for the year are $50 per student, except for the Boys 1st XI where the fees are $100. Please refer to the permission letters for fees.

Do I need my own equipment?

Mount Roskill Grammar School provides each team with equipment such as balls, cones, bibs and will provide each team with a playing kit. The expectation is that the students supply their own boots and shinpads for games.
