From February 2nd 2024, parents and students will no longer be able to purchase Mount Roskill Grammar School uniforms from the on-site uniform shop at the school.
Uniforms can be ordered online at www.elizabethmichael.co.nz or purchased at Elizabeth Michael’s uniform shop located at 65 New North Road, Eden Terrace.

Online Ordering
Visit www.elizabethmichael.co.nz and click the ‘Login/Register’ tab at the top right of the page.
Register your details and use the school code RG299 when prompted at the bottom of the page.
You will receive a registration email and access to the online uniform shop.
Orders can be couriered to your home (fee applies) or you can pick up in store.
In Store
Elizabeth Michael’s uniform shop is located at 65 New North Road, Eden Terrace. Please visit the physical shop to try on and purchase your Mount Roskill Grammar School uniform.

School Uniform
All students are expected to wear the new official Mount Roskill Grammar School uniform.
The Official Mount Roskill Grammar School Uniform designed and manufactured by Elizabeth Michael is ONLY AVAILABLE online at www.elizabethmichael.co.nz or purchased at the Elizabeth Michael’s uniform shop at 65 New North Road, Eden Terrace.
Students must ensure they wear the correct school uniform. All non uniform items will be confiscated and held by the Deans. Confiscated items can only be collected on Friday after 3.10pm.
- Only regulation MRGS jackets may be worn
- MRGS caps and bucket hats are allowed
- Hoodies are are not allowed
- Only full foot, plain black leather, lace-up school shoes are allowed. Ballet slippers, slip ons and canvas shoes are not uniform shoes and will not be accepted. If you are unsure about what shoes are allowed please contact the Deans.
Year 9, 10 & 11 Uniform
- Either: Shorts: Regulation polyester/wool, navy shorts.
- Or: Skirt: One of the two regulation styles
(a)Regulation polyester/wool, navy mid length skirt.
(b)Regulation polyester/wool, navy full length skirt. - Or: Trousers: Regulation polyester/wool, navy dress trousers. Fitted and non-fitted available.
- Jersey: Regulation navy jersey with school crest.
- Shirt: Regulation MRGS open-necked shirt with coloured school logo on pocket; long or short-sleeved (navy collar). Fitted and non-fitted available.
- T-shirt/Singlet: (optional) Must not be visible at the neck or beneath school shirt. No long-sleeved garment may be worn under a shortsleeved shirt.
- Shoes: Black leather, flat-heeled, full-foot (for reasons of safety), school shoes with backs. High heeled, canvas, suede leather, high-soled (platform), ballet-type, backless shoes, boots, sandals, scuffs, jandals, slippers, track shoes or casual street brand shoes such as Nike, Chuck Taylors or Vans may NOT be worn
- Socks: MRGS regulation knee high socks, short black socks or black tights. No logos or brandings.
- Jacket: Regulation MRGS Jacket. Only the regulation MRGS jackets may be worn.
- PE Shirt: Regulation MRGS shirt.
- PE Shorts: Regulation MRGS shorts.
Year 12 & 13 Uniform
- Either: Shorts: Regulation polyester/wool, navy shorts.
- Or: Skirt: One of the two regulation styles

- Shirt: Regulation MRGS senior shirt with grey school crest on pocket; long or short sleeved (grey collar).
- T-shirt/Singlet: (optional) Must not be visible at the neck or beneath school shirt. No long-sleeved garment may be worn under a shortsleeved shirt.
- Shoes: Black leather, flat-heeled, full-foot (for reasons of safety), school shoes with backs. Other Aspects of Uniform
Hats (optional): MRGS regulation cap or MRGS regulation bucket hat. These may only be worn outside. Caps must be worn peak to the front.
Hair: Hair must be kept tidy at all times. Hair bands and hair ties must be plain black or navy. Hair styles must be reasonably conventional. Unnatural colours, streaks, highlights or patches of unnatural colour are not permitted.
Facial Shaving: Faces are to be clean-shaven
Trouser/Shorts Belt: Plain black leather belt with plain buckle.
Scarves (optional): Regulation MRGS scarf or plain black or plain navy blue scarf.
Head Scarves: Black.
Make-up: Students are not permitted to wear make-up or nail-polish.
Jewellery (optional): A wrist watch. One small, spherical or cylindrical, metal ear stud or thin, plain metal sleeper worn in the lobe of each ear. No nose stud or piercings on any other part of the face are allowed.
Other: Tattoos or similar brandings must be covered.
